St Patrick’s Day

St Patrick’s Day was a huge success. As the children have just earned their Green Flag for Marine Environment we decided to use this as the theme for our float. The children focused on the idea of all the plastic that has ended up in our oceans and wanted to highlight and bring awareness to the damage it is causing our sea creatures. With this in mind they set about making sea creature costumes out of plastic and other recycled materials. Our 17 foot plastic whale took centre stage on the day. All the hard work paid off and our float won first prize in the walking category. Well done to all who helped make this massive project a huge success.

Grandparents Day 2018

Our grandparents are very special people. Many of them play a big role in the children’s lives. They drop and collect from school. They help with homework. They listen to all the news from the day. But most of them have not sat in a classroom in at least half a decade! Well on Grandparents Day we invited them to do just that.  The children opened the doors of their classrooms and gave their grandparents and special friends a tour. They introduced their grandparents to the modern technology we use such as Ipads, computers and interactive whiteboards. They showed their grandparents their work and their projects. Their grandparents explored science experiments and coding but they also taught the children some card games and board games. Grandparents and their grand children knitted and painted together. They chatted and laughed and learned from each other. Thank you to all our special friends and special grandparents for visiting school today.
